Tartan Fabric

Our tartan fabric by the metre is made from 100% pure new wool and proudly woven in Scotland. You can choose between 3 different stocked weights: lightweight (Reiver), medium weight (Braeriach) and heavyweight (Strome). The heavier Strome fabric is traditionally used for hand-sewn kilts but is suitable for many other uses from coatings to upholstery. The medium weight Braeriach can be

used for lighter weight kilts as well as soft furnishings, upholstery, curtains, cushions and covers. Whilst the lightweight fabric is a very versatile weight and can be used for skirts, dresses, scarves, sashes, shawls, cummerbunds and ideal for cushions and table displays it is a very versatile weight. More details can be found on each weight's category page. We stock over 500 authentic tartans that can be searched for by clan, colour and variant.
