Cornish Hunting Modern

Each colour woven into the Cornish National Tartan has a special significance. The white cross on a black background is for the banner of St.Piran, the patron saint of tinners. Black and gold are the colours of the ancient Cornish kings, whilst royal blue and gold were the colours of the wrestlers' standard. Red is for the legs and beak of the national bird, the chough.
