How much fabric is required for a Great Kilt?

The Breacan-an-feileadh or Great Kilt (belted plaid) as it is more widely known, is simply a length of light or medium weight tartan fabric, normally measuring between 7 to 9 yards. You can order this from the tartan fabric section. Please note we sell cut length fabric by the metre here in the U.K. so 9 yards would convert to 8.25 metres.
