For a truly intimate Scottish wedding venue, the Hilltop Bothy located at the summit of Schiehallion mountain in Perth is a perfect choice.

The bothy is run by Highland Safaris and is only accessible by Land Rover. It is situated 2500 feet above sea level, high in the hills above Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel. Ben Nevis is just fifty miles to the west, and Schiehallion offers beautiful views of the UK’s highest mountain. 2. Jupiter Artland, Edinburgh

A contemporary sculpture park and private museum at Bonnington House, Wilkieston, Jupiter Artland is an impressive wedding venue.

The park was brought to life by owners Nicky and Robert Wilson with architect and sculptor Charles Jencks creating the iconic Cells of Life at Jupiter Artland. It is a 100-acre venue, home to over 30 sculptures from artists all over the world.

Couples can say their vows at the ‘Temple of Apollo’ or the ‘Cells of Life’ landform, before moving on to the reception. The reception can be held at The Proposal Room, The Meadow, Steading Gallery, Cottage Garden Marquee or Grass Circle Marquee.

3. Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow

Glasgow’s iconic dance hall and concert venue, Barrowland Ballroom held its first wedding reception in 2015. Oasis, U2, Calvin Harris and David Bowie have all graced the famous Barrowland Ballroom stage, and your wedding would add to Barrowland’s rich history.

There’s no location more unique than Edinburgh Zoo for your wedding. Weddings are held in Mansion House, a spectacular building in the zoo’s beautiful grounds.

There are numerous wedding packages available to suit a variety of budgets. They include food, drink and access for you and your guests into the zoo for the day. Various function rooms are available in Mansion House, with the Macmillan Room and the Geddes and Gillespie Room the most popular for weddings.

7. Roulotte Retreat, Melrose, Scottish Borders

Roulotte Retreat is a unusual wedding venue located in the Scottish Borders.

The retreat is a 3 acre meadow, complete with a collection of French gypsy caravans. It’s the only place in the UK with a collection of French hand carved Roulottes set around a lochan.

The venue is perfect for intimate, boho weddings. Couples usually marry outside, then progress onto the onsite 1950’s art studio for their reception.

8. Doune Castle, Stirling

Are you a Game Of Thrones fan? How would you like to marry at the Stark’s home in Winterfell?

Doune Castle was used in the pilot episode of Game Of Thrones, and is also the setting for the 1975 film, Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

The castle was built in the fourteenth century for Regent Albany, and looks down over the River Teith and out towards the Menteith Hills and Ben Lomond.

There are three unique wedding venues within Doune castle. Holding 120 people. The Great Hall has beautiful stone walls and a restored wooden roof. Alternatively, Duke's Hall holds only 60 people but is one of the best-preserved halls in Scotland.

9. The Treehouse at the Lodge on Loch Goil, Argyll

If you’re looking for a romantic hideaway, this wooden treehouse at the edge of Loch Goil could be the perfect place.

10. West Brewery, Glasgow

West Brewery is housed in the Templeton Building, Glasgow.

There are two function rooms that can accommodate wedding parties. The Courtyard can hold up to 150 guests for the ceremony and 250 in the evening. Also, the Courtyard has a 15 foot high glass wall that acts as a viewing gallery into the state of the art brewery below.

The Hop Room is another private function room, that allows up to 64 guests for the ceremony and 90 for the evening. With contemporary decor, the bright and airy room can be adapted to suit your chosen theme.
