Connemara Irish
The Connemara tartan is an Irish tartan, created to represent the wild yet picturesque area situated in the northwest of County Galway. Although the land is most inhospitable, where too many dispossessed families fought for a meagre existence on sparse potato crops, much of it has now been designated as a national park, recognising its natural scenic value, with the principal town of Clifden typifying the area's attraction.
