Kilgour Modern
It is believed that this surname originated at Kilgour, near Falkland in Fifeshire, where it has been known since the 16th century. Later the name appears in Aberdeenshire and Perthshire. Like most surnames, the form of spelling has varied during the passing of centuries. The older forms were Kilgor, Kilgowre and Kilgoure.
