Kincaid Ancient

Kincaid Ancient

This tartan was designed by Lochcarron of Scotland in 1960 to recognise the name Kincaid. The Kincaid Clan mainly resided in the central belt of Scotland in the lands of Kincaid in the Parish of Campsie, Stirling. They are believed to have descended from several families, including the Earls of Lennox, the owners of these lands in the late 12th century. The earliest record of the name Kincaid is Robert Kincade, who served on an inquest held in Stirling on October 2nd, 1425. In 1447, Robert Kyncade de Eodem appears on a charter as the son and heir of William Kyncade.
