Royal Canadian Airforce

This tartan was created in the early 1940s by Group Captain Elmer Fullerton. The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) is part of the national defence and the Canadian Armed Forces. The design is based on the Anderson tartan and incorporates the RCAF colours, linking land and community between Scotland and Canada through the symbolic use of colour. The tartan was approved by the Air Council of RCAF in 1942 and officially registered later that year by the Lord Lyon, King of Arms of Scotland in his court archives.
