Scottish Borderland
The Scottish Borderland tartan is a distinctive and evocative design created in 1996 by Alistair Buchan, paying tribute to the rich heritage of the Scottish Borders, a region renowned for its historical and cultural significance. Woven by Lochcarron of Scotland, the tartan captures the essence of the Borderlands with its harmonious blend of colours and intricate patterns. This tartan's palette reflects the landscape of the Borders, incorporating greens to symbolise rolling hills and fertile farmland, and deep blues representing the winding river Tweed. The design intertwines these elements into a classic tartan pattern, balancing tradition with a contemporary aesthetic.
