The Royal Wedding and Lochcarron
The Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took place in London in May 2018. We were particularly excited as 10 of our special Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Blankets were in attendance, along with their new owners, youngsters from the Diana Award, who had been invited to attend the wedding.
The ten youngsters joined 2,640 people with a ringside view of Harry and his bride Meghan Markle. Watching as all their guests arrived at St George’s Chapel for their nuptials on May 19th. Whilst using their new blankets to sit on to have their picnic they got some wonderful shots of the bride and groom as well as a few lovely photos of their day in the fabulous sunshine.
Following her death in 1997, The Diana Award is an official tribute to her death. Established in 1999, The British Government set up the Diana Award. It is a way of recognising young people doing the most for their community. It is the last remaining charity in Britain to bear the name of Diana, Princess of Wales.
The Diana Award is truly something to be proud of, the charity has helped over 47,000 young people with their anti-bullying and mentoring scheme.

The Grant 1714 Tartan
This Grant 1714 tartan was recently reconstructed by Peter Macdonald, tartan historian, and honorary Head of Research at The Scottish Tartan’s Authority from studies of Richard Waitt’s portraits of the Laird of Grant’s Piper and Champion from 1714. This historic tartan is one of the earliest tartans on record predating the Battle of Culloden 1745 and the later 19th century tartans and is believed to be the only historic early 18th century tartan to have been re-created and registered by a Clan Chief.
